Level 1 IT Technician

Level 1 IT Techinician will be responsible for providing first line support to users. You will be responsible for taking ownership of incidents, identifying issues, resolving problems or transferring incidents to the appropriate resource. You will be part of a dynamic team and a very nice Quebec company in the food industry in full growth.

Your tasks will mainly consist of:

  • Provide first-line support to users remotely or in person, diagnose, propose solutions and document problems encountered and solutions provided
  • Provide software, hardware and operational support to employees
  • Advise, assist and train users on the use of software
  • Install, test and update computer equipment (computers, peripherals, programs and software)
  • Receive and distribute computer equipment
  • Manage user accounts and access
  • Participate in the evaluation of new versions of existing software
  • Research, test and verify new software or equipment
  • Provide an evaluation of the work to be done and respect the deadlines
  • Participate in various technical IT projects
  • Follow the evolution of technologies and apply your knowledge to help the company evolve towards the latest industry trends
  • Ensure good communication with other team members
  • Contribute to the maintenance of good practices in computer security (Antivirus, Windows update)
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of computer hardware/software
  • Maintain up-to-date skills in his/her field of activity
  • Participate in all other activities related to the IT department
  • Provide support for emergency calls outside of work hours

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Diploma (DEP) in computer support or equivalent or technical knowledge focused on user support
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position
  • This position is customer service oriented, you must be courteous and interpersonal
  • Experience in managing a computer fleet including workstations, mobile devices, printers, telephones and other equipment made available to users
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows environments (desktop and server) with Active Directory
  • Excellent knowledge of enterprise productivity and collaboration products such as Microsoft Office 365
  • Good knowledge of security
  • Demonstrates an aptitude for information retrieval, adaptability (open to change)
  • Be conscientious and organized
  • Must be self-directed, tactful and organized in the conduct of files and have the ability to work as part of a team
  • Demonstrates a good sense of responsibility and an ability to manage priorities
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills in all situations
  • Problem-solving orientation and ability to bring major issues to the attention of the supervisor
  • Demonstrates good interpersonal skills (listening skills, tact and diplomacy), shows a high level of concern for customer service (customer experience)
  • Good stress management and ability to work in a very dynamic company
  • You will be part of an agile, dynamic and versatile team with whom you will work closely
  • French (spoken and written)
  • Functional English (spoken and written)
