Mayrand Plus, a food distribution business for catering professionals, is currently looking for a distribution and logistics director, involved, who wishes to contribute to the success of the company.

Reporting directly to the Vice-President, Distribution, and Logistics, the incumbent will be responsible for organizing, spearheading, monitoring, and evaluating the distribution center’s operations (receiving, stocking, shipping, and transportation) to ensure operational efficiency and profitability, while adhering to the company’s mission and vision.

Your tasks will consist mainly of

  • Define and establish the operations strategy in collaboration with the Vice-President, Distribution and Logistics
  • Implement programs to ensure the efficient use of labour and equipment to achieve desired objectives while monitoring performance in relation to established objectives (KPIs)
  • Oversee management of stored inventory
  • In conjunction with the sector manager, manage daily warehouse operations and transportation, including receiving, shipping and stocking
  • Track the department’s budget and make any corrections as needed;
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards;
  • In collaboration with the HR department, select the department’s employees or approve appointments
  • Assess the performance of the sector manager and supervisors
  • Determine and authorize the training needs of the department’s employees
  • Maintain good communication at all levels with the other departments
  • Support the team through change management
  • Implement and manage continuous improvement
  • All other related tasks

Qualifications and skills required

  • Bachelor of Business Administration or relevant experience;
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar position
  • Recognized experience in the food industry (an asset)
  • Sounds skills in evaluating, coordinating and managing employees
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards
  • Knowledge of the MS Office suite (Word, Excel (advanced), Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of French and English
  • Strategic thinking and decisiveness
