Reporting to the Vice President, Distribution and Logistics, the incumbent acts as the Director of Continuous Improvement in the day-to-day operations.  The incumbent is responsible for activities and projects related to continuous improvement for the operations team.
He/she acts as a reference for the management team regarding the orientations, principles and consistency of continuous improvement projects. He/she will be part of a dynamic team and a very nice growing Quebec company in the food industry.

Your tasks will mainly consist of :

  • Define the strategic orientations in terms of continuous improvement, make all members of the management aware of its principles and its application
  • Act as a continuous improvement expert for the company
  • Define the priorities in terms of improvement projects and establish the allocated budget
  • Manage the continuous improvement and quality team
  • Understand distribution and logistics processes and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Analyze operational data and guide the management team in appropriate solutions
  • Identify, develop and monitor action plans for improvement
  • Identify key performance indicators and perform appropriate analysis
  • Identify the needs of the management team regarding operational reporting
  • Coordinate the work of the operations team in relation to the validation needs of the operations reporting data
  • Validate compliance with operational procedures and participate in the development, updating and evolution of these procedures
  • Accompany, motivate and engage the teams in order to successfully complete the various projects
  • Maintain his or her skills in his or her field of activity

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Hold a degree (BAC) in Operations and Logistics Engineering, or any other relevant field
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the field of continuous improvement, ideally in distribution centers
  • Experience in leading teams
  • Lean Six Sigma certified (an asset)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Very good knowledge of Excel software
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Be structured and demonstrate good analytical and synthesis skills
  • Demonstrate good judgment and reasoning in the search for innovative solutions to facilitate the integration of different tools into a coherent whole, taking into account the means available
  • Possess a good capacity to adapt and a great deal of versatility, since the tasks involve working on various files with different levels of stakeholders
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills (listening skills, tact and diplomacy)
  • Fluent French (spoken and written); Functional English (spoken and written)
