Analyst - Distribution & Logistics

Reporting to the Vice President, Distribution and Logistics, the incumbent acts as a Distribution and Logistics Analyst in the day-to-day operations and planning of special projects.  

The incumbent analyzes operational data, identifies and evaluates problems and possible solutions and advises the operations team on the solutions to be implemented.  The incumbent acts as a reference for the management team regarding orientations, principles, and consistency of information and data. He/she will be part of a dynamic team and a very nice growing Quebec company in the food industry.

Your tasks will mainly consist of:

  • Understand distribution and logistics processes and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Participate in improvement projects
  • Analyze operational data and guide the management team in appropriate solutions
  • Identify, develop and monitor improvement action plans;
  • Identify and produce key performance indicators and perform appropriate analysis
  • Identify the needs of the management team regarding operational reporting
  • Coordinate the work of the operations team in relation to the validation needs of the operations reports data
  • Validate compliance with operational procedures and participate in the development, updating and evolution of these procedures
  • Maintain up-to-date skills in his/her field of activity

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Degree (BAC) in Operations and Logistics Engineering or a DEC in Operations and Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the logistics/distribution field
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Very good knowledge of Excel software
  • Experience with Power BI would be an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP solution would be an asset
  • Be autonomous and able to show initiative
  • Be structured and demonstrate good analytical and synthesis skills;
  • Demonstrate good judgment and reasoning in the search for innovative solutions to facilitate the integration of different tools into a coherent whole, taking into account the means available
  • Be able to reconcile and find satisfactory solutions for users, who may sometimes have divergent opinions. The person sought must also be autonomous, tactful and organized in the conduct of his or her files and have the ability to work in a team
  • Be adaptable and versatile, since the tasks involve working on various files with different levels of stakeholders
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills (listening skills, tact and diplomacy)
  • Fluent French (spoken and written); Functional English (spoken and written)
